Loud Dog at AIGA Afterlife Fashion Show

By on Nov 26, 2007 in Loud Dog News

As designers at a web design company, it’s not every day that you get to work with paper… especially when you get to make a dress out of it. As an homage to employees past at Loud Dog, we wanted to make use of the surplus of old business cards we had in the office.

The backsides of our cards are bright red, providing a hot palette for a fun little dress. We spent about 4 weeks coordinating the design and production of the dress which used approximately 1,000 cards. Each card was hole punched and hand sewn to a mesh understructure. Thanks to the help of designer, Tia Ninzehelter and office manager, Haiba Hamilton, our production process moved along smoothly and on time.

If you attended the SF chapter of AIGA’s fall gala event, The Afterlife: Paper, Purgatory and the Great Beyond, you may have seen our model, Liz Milian, on the runway. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did, and if you missed it, you can check out more photos of the event and some of the other dresses on flickr.

All of our photography was shot by Katie DeGraff. Thanks Katie!
